Dr. Greg Baeker

Greg Baeker is Canada's leading expert in integrated cultural strategies for cities. Greg's leadership in the field is built on 25 years of experience in senior leadership positions in the cultural field in Canada as a cultural planner, policy maker, cultural manager and researcher. He is a gifted facilitator who works effectively in both large and small communities and in bridging leading ideas with on-the-ground practice and results. Recent work includes helping to launch the Ontario Municipal Cultural Planning Partnership, a coalition of government agencies, municipalities and cultural groups working to promote municipal cultural planning across the province. He has the only PhD in Canada in cultural and urban planning.

Daniel Nixey

A municipal planner by training and practice, Daniel Nixey is an accomplished project manager and communicator. Daniel's experience includes 10 years with the planning department of the Regional Municipality of Ottawa-Carleton as Manager of Urban Policy. As well he has spent 10 years directing consulting and research divisions for two large commercial real estate firms. Based on this experience Daniel has developed a strong municipal consulting practice in the areas of strategic planning, real property advice and municipal business transformation. Daniel also has core strengths in development economics, data modeling, GIS and the exploitation of web-based surveying tools to extract themes relating to community identity.

Glen Murray

As an urban strategist with AuthentiCity Glen Murray is best known for his vision to build culturally dynamic urban centres. He inspires Canadians to look at cities as the economic engines of the country that must be built on a foundation of culture, creativity and quality of place. His vision is anchored in practical and extensive municipal experience and from working with business and union leaders and in partnership with other levels of government. He was the first Chair of the Big City Mayors Caucus in 2002 while he was Mayor of Winnipeg. In that capacity he led the campaign for new fiscal arrangements for municipalities - the New Deal for Cities. Glen Chairs the National Roundtable on the Environment and Economy.
